Asbury Park

The City of Asbury Park just North of Ocean Grove is home to seaside history. It was a town established by James Bradley in 1871, named Asbury Park for Francis Asbury. Throughout the years Asbury Park has pumped out stars like Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. The Stone Pony, shown below, is one of the most well known music venues known to the industry. President of the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”, Robert Santelli, said “The club has already earned its place in history as one of rock ‘n’ roll’s great venues. Most rock critics and historians that I come in contact with on a regular basis feel that The Stone Pony is one of the greatest rock clubs of all time.” As time has progressed so has Asbury Park, now home to a gorgeous boardwalk, with seaside resturants, family friendly venues, and the Asbury Park Convention Hall. As Sandy has destroyed part of Asbury Park, the town and citizens are working diligently to rebuild and have everything up and running by summer of 2013.
