In Memoriam

James J. Pentz

March 30, 1947 - March 23, 2002

It is with gratitude and wonder that we remember Jim for all the happiness he brought to our family. At any family gathering, Jim was quick to offer his seat, a drink, a clasp of the hand, a kiss, a compliment, and a spin on the dance floor. He made the men feel like comrades and the women feel like royalty. How lucky we were to be on the receiving end of his uncommon grace, courtesy, and immeasurable good will. Our family will forever be incomplete without the warmth of his smile, the mirth dancing in his eyes, and the generosity of his spirit. And so we echo the words of Tennyson:

"But the tender grace of a day that is dead, Will never come back to me."

For us, Jim was that "tender grace." We now fix our hearts on a new day when we shall sit with Jim at another Table, where he shall once again rise and offer... himself. In loving memory of our favorite son-in-law, brother-in-law, and beloved friend.
